Itinerary
After your arrival at Socotra Island Airport we will we pick you up and transfer you to the Hadibo Hotel. After lunch we will make an excursion to Wadi Dingehen. On our way back we can swim from the white sandy beach of Deleisha. Dinner and overnight are at Hadibo hotel and restaurants.
Our adventure begins at 7.00 am with a car trip through Dicksam plateau (approx. 900 m. above the sea). We will start trekking for 3 hours till we arrive to Tinnier, this area is a view point to see the whole island, and it is a large open plateau with a green grassland where the nomads herd there cattle. After launch we continue trekking for more 3 hours up to reach the protected area of Scant where we will appreciate the reach diversity in flora and fauna of this community dominated by the wildly beautiful and verdant Haggier Mountains. We’ll also enjoy our first encounters with local wildlife. Dinner and overnight camping are at Scant PA.
The second day of trekking begins by slipping among Higgher Ranges Mountains, this is truly extraordinary journey will introduce you to the natural wonders of this blessed island. After walking through the exhibition of Dragon’ Blood tree where, we will stop at Rocab Fermihen, where we will carry on to hiking slightly down to Deresmoiten village. Dinner and overnight are camping in Deresmoiten village.
From Deresmoiten we walk through the Fermhin forest of the Dragon’s blood tree and we continue to the car road. After we meet the cars we will transfer to Daerhu canyon. After lunch we will swim in the fresh swimming pool and exploring the area. Dinner and overnight are camping at the Daerhu canyon.
In the morning the cars will take us to south where we will meet the Indian Ocean Aomak beach. After enjoying the whole day next to the beach we will take a brief visit to Dogub cave, and we will be back to Aomak beach for camping. Dinner and overnight are camping in Aomak beach.
Today a new adventure tailored for us, we will be driving with 4×4 among the giant pristine sand dunes of Zahik and Hayf. And we will aim west taking a break off for a picnic launch at Wadi Difarhu. Through typical villages and lush green vegetation with many birds, we will make our way to Hadibo. Dinner and overnight are at the Hotel in Hadibo and restaurant.
At the morning there are no planned activities. You can spend your time exploring the town of Hadibo and its typical market or visiting Socotra Women Association for handy crafts and souvenirs and or you can make an interesting visit to the nursery for observing the native trees. After launch in restaurant we will drive to Homhil protected area, home to the inhabitant forests of the Dragon blood tree and Frankincense tree. Dinner and overnight are at Homhil PA campsite.
In the morning we will drive to Dihoof at Momi area. This very big area is renowned of its breath taking lush green landscape and picturesque sceneries. After enjoying the virgin countryside and staying with the nomads and the ancient people of Socotra where you can expect the warmest of welcomes as they share their traditional lifestyle, we will visit the Qalishen valley where nature swimming polls. Then we will back to Homhil. Dinner and overnight are again at Homhil PA campsite.
 After breakfast we will begin our trekking to Wadi Al Shifa (hiking down for 3 hours) through awesome surrounding panoramas view overwhelming swimming poll descending while viewing the wild water of the Arabian sea. The cars meet us down in the Wadi then, we drive east to Arher beach it is a narrow area contains enormous silver sand dunes and home to fresh water river coming from the top of the mountains meeting the sea in where you can have a swim in the crystal sea water and enjoy showering with the fresh water at the same time. Dinner and overnight are camping at Arher beach.
Today we enjoy the whole day next to the beach and enjoying swimming and sunbathing. Or if you want to make an adventure we can go to visit an amazing beach of Ras Irsal, we back for lunch to Arher and enjoying watching and relaxing in the fresh running water of Arher beach. Fresh fish will be coughed and barbequed to be ordered of dinner and the overnight will be under the clear sky decorated with stars of the wonderful beach of Arher.
Drive from Arher beach to Hoq cave for a day adventure. We will start hiking up for two hours till we arrive at the gate of the cave, one hour and half for exploring inside the cave, and more one hour to hike down to meet the cars. After an exhausted trip we’ll drive to the marine protected area of Dihamri. Dihamri is a uniquely protected coral reef offers excellent snorkeling, and for certified divers, one of the best dives that Socotra Islands has to offer, with great opportunities to see parrotfish, Moray eel, Rays, Sea urchins, etc. This shallow reef will let even the inexperienced snorkeler enjoy its beauty. We would like to remind people not to touch the corals in the marine protected area as this would cause irreversible damage. Dinner and overnight will be served at Dihamri marine protected area campsite.
Today we will spend the morning snorkeling in the Dihamri. Dihamri is blessed with more than 200 fish species and 4 of the 5 coral species that inhabit to the island. In the afternoon we will head to Ayhaft canyon. The most riches place on the island known for its variety of plantation and moreover we will spot rare birds and wander around the waterfall canyon before returning to our hotel in Hadibo for dinner and overnight.
From Hadibo we drive to Qalansiya to look around this charming and picturesque fishing town with its traditional houses and narrow alleyways. We then go to the protected area in Detwah lagoon, which is renowned for its spectacular landscape and expansive endless beach area. Sting rays can be seen in the lagoon, so take care when you are swimming. Enjoy the beach, or swim with in the clear crystal water. There is also a large array of sea birds to inspect at this location. After wittiness the tremendous sunset and a delicious dinner on board for us, we will overnight at Qalansiya campsite. Â
The last leg of this remarkable journey will be an excursion to Shoab beach where a boat trip awaits us at Detwah lagoon. We will be cruising while many genital dolphins of the Indian Ocean leaping right next to the boat and squadrons of Socotra Cormenons, sea Gulls, and Grey Herons birds will be seen flying or nesting on the precipices. We’ll carryon all the way through a magnificent rock faces and clear sea until we arrive to Shuab beach. After we enjoy swimming in the clear sea and with dolphins, we will drive the boat back to Qalansiya. Dinner and overnight are at Hadibo Hotel and restaurant.
We pick you up morning to Socotra Island Airport in the board your flight back to the mainland. Â
